Review on A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro

This book is a Sherlock Holmes retelling which is based on the lives of the great great great grandchildren of Holmes and Watson. The story is written from the perspective of Jamie Watson.

Jamie and Charlotte Holmes both study at the 'Sherringford' school in America. Though the world praises the friendship of their great great great grandfathers but the Holmes and the Watson family are not in touch with each other for many years and Jamie is always told by her mother to keep a distance from the Holmeses. Jamie really wants to know more about Charlotte. Soon after the story starts a murder takes place in the campus and Jamie and Charlotte become the prime suspect of it as they had an argument and fight with the victim just before he died. After that many unusual incidents take place and all of these are similar to the stories of " The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes".

Though the Police takes over the case but Charlotte Holmes being a Holmes could not stop herself from digging up the truth and with her genius mind she tries to gather some evidences that can prove her and Jamie innocent. She also involves Jamie in her mission and from there they get to know each other more and their friendship starts becoming strong.

I really liked Jamie more than Charlotte as the story was told in his perspective and you really get to know what he is feeling. Charlotte's character is very much strong. She is bold, brave, intelligent and dauntless. Overall the story was really enjoyable. I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars.
